Riviera del Brenta: the Venetian villas from Padua to Venice

DURATION: a day

MEANS: train and Burchiello

RECOMMENDED PERIOD: March to October

The Riviera del Brenta is one of the most picturesque and fascinating areas of the Veneto region, located between Padua and Venice. Here you can admire numerous historic villas built between the 17th and 18th centuries, evidence of the wealth and power of Venetian nobles of the time.

Among the most famous and visited villas on the Riviera are Villa Pisani, Villa Foscari known as “La Malcontenta,” and Villa Widmann. Each villa has its own history and architectural style, but all are characterized by the magnificence of the interiors, decorations and frescoes that tell of a bygone era.

It is possible to visit these villas by taking a cruise on the Burchiello, a typical Venetian boat that sails along the Brenta River. The experience is very evocative, allowing you to admire the villas from the viewpoint of the river and enjoy a unique and romantic atmosphere. During the cruise, you can also taste typical local products, such as the famous spritz and cicchetti, small Venetian snacks.

A truly unforgettable experience.
